Spurred by complaints of red tape and long waiting lists at veterans’ hospitals, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Rep. Ciro Rodriguez, D-San Antonio, pledged Saturday to help properly fund and fix a health care system that veterans say is overwhelmed by the number of injured soldiers back from Iraq and Afghanistan.
