As Politico notes below, Senator Blanche Lincoln is already shifting to the left in response to her Democrat primary challenger, Bill Halter. In response to Lincoln’s latest equivocation NRSC Press Secretary Amber Marchand said:

“Considering Lincoln’s back and forth on Obama’s health care bill, the unpopular public option, the job-killing card check bill, and other critical issues facing Arkansas, it’s not surprising that she’s backing away from her previous opposition to the ultimate backroom deal of reconciliation in the face of a difficult primary challenge from the left. It’s clear that Lincoln’s shifting positions and constant equivocations are completely politically motivated, and the families, seniors, farmers, and small business owners in Arkansas deserve better.
