Democrat Senate hopeful U.S. Representative Brad Ellsworth (D-IN) voted to pass President Barack Obama’s massive government-run health care bill today, which will lead to higher taxes, taxpayer-funded abortions, massive cuts to Medicare, and does nothing to curtail higher health care premiums burdening Indiana families.
National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Press Secretary Amber Marchand issued the following statement in response to Ellsworth’s vote:
“Brad Ellsworth put his Democrat party leaders in Washington before Hoosier voters when he voted for Nancy Pelosi and President Obama’s health care bill today, and we’re confident that he will be held accountable for this vote in November.
“The legislation that Ellsworth helped Pelosi pass imposes burdensome tax hikes on job creators, cuts Medicare for seniors, and does nothing to curtail rising health care costs for Indiana families. This bill also fails to apply the same pro-life standards that Ellsworth once declared non-negotiable in order to obtain his vote on health care, and it is packed with backroom deals like the Louisiana Purchase and the Cornhusker Kickback, which will benefit other states at Indiana’s expense.
“This November, we’re confident that Hoosier voters will hold Brad Ellsworth accountable for playing the politics of Washington against their best interests when he voted for Nancy Pelosi and President Obama’s health care bill today.”
