President Obama in PA selling unpopular health care reform bill

In Pennsylvania, President Obama attempted to sell his unpopular health care plan yesterday and KYW Newsradio 1060 reports that Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey responded that “reform is needed, but not the reform the President is asking for.” KYW’s Jim Melwert reports Republican senate hopeful Pat Toomey reacted to President Obama’s visit, saying reform is needed, but not the reform the President is asking for. Pat Toomey says there have been reforms over the past several years, specifically listing medical savings accounts: “There’s certainly more that needs to be done.  I’ve been advocating for the reforms that I’ve laid out for years.  And it’s been frustrating that we haven’t had the adequate support in Congress to get it done.” His reforms would include removing a tax law that allow employers to write off health insurance costs, but not individuals. He’d also let insurance companies compete across state lines.
