On the Missouri Senate front, it looks like after watching the aftermath of rallies for Jon Corzine, Creigh Deeds, and Martha Coakley, Democrat Senate candidate Robin Carnahan is taking the opposite tact and leaving the state as President Obama brings his 59% disapproval rating to the Show-Me State today. The Kansas City Star reports [w]hen the president comes to town, candidates running under the same banner usually show up to bask in the reflected political glow. But Democratic Senate candidate Robin Carnahan won’t be in St. Louis Wednesday when President Obama drops in for a health care rally. Nor will she be in attendance when he headlines an event to help raise money for Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, a close Obama – and Carnahan – ally who is facing re-election in two years.
