Another Public Poll Shows Wisconsin Senate Race Neck-and-Neck

A poll, just released by Democrat-leaning firm PPP, shows Democrat incumbent Russ Feingold in a statistical dead heat with Republican Ron Johnson.  The results show Feingold with 45 percent to Johnson’s 43 percent, well within the poll’s 3.9 percent margin of error.  The PPP survey comes just a week after Rasmussen reported Feingold leading Johnson by just 1 percent.  As PPP notes: “It’s looking more and more likely that Wisconsin will be in the top tier of competitive Senate races this fall. Russ Feingold leads challenger Ron Johnson by only two points, 45-43. Johnson is polling closer to Feingold than Tommy Thompson was as he contemplated a potential campaign.”

“Yet another public survey, this one by a Democrat-leaning firm, shows that Wisconsin voters are ready to turn the page after 17 years of Russ Feingold’s out-of-control taxes, spending and debt in Washington.  Perhaps that’s why Feingold and his handlers in Washington are busy launching desperate attacks before Republicans have even chosen a nominee.  But there’s no doubt Wisconsinites will hold Feingold accountable for his job-killing partisan record when they elect a Republican as their next U.S. Senator this November.” – Chris Bond, NRSC spokesman
