Angle Neck-and-Neck With Embattled Reid

In Nevada, a new survey shows Republican nominee Sharron Angle neck-and-neck with embattled Majority Leader Harry Reid.  The Las Vegas Review Journal reports:

…the GOP challenger regaining ground after going on the offensive with a TV ad blaming Reid for Nevada’s deep economic troubles. The high-profile contest with implications for President Barack Obama’s agenda promises to be a bare-knuckled fight to the finish as voters decide between Reid’s promise that the recovery is coming under Democrats and Angle’s call for a new conservative fiscal direction, analysts said…

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Sun reports that Nevada builders find Reid’s costly failed stimulus bill to have had a “negligible” effect on their industry.

The $787 billion federal stimulus is winding down… Southern Nevada contractors and other companies said it didn’t have the benefit they desired. “From a construction-industry point of view, it was negligible,” said Steve Holloway, Associated General Contractors executive vice president…. Although stimulus money was allocated for transportation projects, Holloway said the view is that much of the money went for maintenance and wasn’t enough to make a “real impact” on the industry.
