Republicans Gain Momentum Against Vulnerable Democrat Incumbents

As Republicans gain momentum against vulnerable Democrat incumbents, the NRSC is taking aggressive steps to support GOP victories – including reserving air time in California, Wisconsin, and Washington State.  The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza writes:

The [NRSC] has reserved more than $2.7 million in television time in California, Wisconsin and Washington… All three races feature Democratic incumbents in various stages of vulnerability. …Boxer is regarded as the most potentially vulnerable… polling shows [Washington and Wisconsin] as possible upsets…

And CNN reports that the

battle for control of the Senate is getting even more interesting, thanks to a move by the [NRSC] to reserve nearly $3 million to pay for television commercials….”…Boxer’s partisan and ineffective record has finally caught up with her, and we believe this is the year California turns the corner on its economy by electing a new leader in the Senate. We’re preparing to go on offense and ensure… Fiorina has the resources she needs to win in November,” NRSC Communications Director Brian Walsh tells CNN.

While Politico’s Jonathan Martin notes:

With the GOP’s hopes for reclaiming the Senate seeming to hinge increasingly on their success in the west, the NRSC is bringing in a veteran press operative to help Republican Senate candidates… “Brian [Jones, a former RNC communications director] is a well-respected and experienced communications professional who will be providing valuable strategic advice on key races,” said NRSC communications director Brian Walsh…
