NRSC Calls On Ellsworth To Return $76,000 In Contributions From “Unpatriotic” Lobbyists

As you may have seen, embattled Democrat Senate candidate Brad Ellsworth (D-IN) took his personal attacks against Republican Dan Coats yet another step over the line today, calling him “unpatriotic” for having worked as a lobbyist.

Please keep in mind that this empty, hypocritical attack comes from the same politician who was caught on video in July 2010 raising money from trial lawyers lobbyists at a fancy campaign fundraiser in Vancouver, Canada.

Raising Money From Trial Lawyer Lobbyists In Vancouver, Canada

I would also point out that according to the Center for Responsive Politics, Brad Ellsworth has taken at least $76,100 from lobbyists over the last several years.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) issued the following statement in response:

“Even after getting caught raising money from trial lawyer lobbyists in Canada, Brad Ellsworth keeps forgetting that hypocrisy is not a Hoosier value.  His personal attack on Dan Coats today not only crosses the line, but it raises an interesting question: When will Brad Ellsworth return the over $76,000 that ‘unpatriotic’ lobbyists have lined his campaign coffers with over the years?  Ellsworth should return their money immediately, and his failure to do so will only further expose him for the desperate and hypocritical politician that he’s revealing himself to be.” – Brian Walsh, NRSC Communications Director
