Some follow-up questions for Democrat Scott McAdams

In case you missed it, the Homer Tribune notes that Scott McAdams has “moved to midtown Anchorage and is bringing a staff of 20-30 people on board.”  But it seems McAdams is getting a bit ahead of himself, because while the Democrat Senate hopeful is very eager to tell us all where he went to college and what jobs he has held, Alaskans are still in the dark about where this candidate stands on the issues.

A week removed from an interview with RealClearPolitics, in which he exhibited an “unwillingness to answer some of the most basic policy questions,” the following are five basic follow-up questions that voters are asking McAdams:

1.     When asked about health care last week, Scott McAdams “paused for a full 10 seconds before replying, ‘Let’s see. One moment please.’” A week later, Alaskans are still wondering, does Scott McAdams support Obamacare?

a.    If so, is he concerned about recent reports that the new law has failed to contain costs as was promised?

b.    If not, would he support repealing the measure?

2.    When asked about Afghanistan last week, Scott McAdams told ReaClearPolitics, “Why don’t you let me get back to you on that.”  After a week to consider his position, perhaps Mr. McAdams can clarify, does he support the President’s plan in Afghanistan?

a.    If so, does he support the President’s call for a date certain to withdraw troops regardless of conditions on the ground?

b.    If not, what does he believe is the best strategy to combat Al Qaeda and affiliated terrorist organizations from pursuing attacks against the United States and our allies?

3.    Mr. McAdams also declined to comment about whether he would’ve supported TARP.  Does Scott McAdams support the TARP program?

a.    If so, does he also support the auto bailout?

b.    If not, will he oppose all government efforts to intervene in the private sector?

4.    Does Scott McAdams believe that the President’s stimulus program was effective?

a.    If so, would he support the President’s call this week for another $50 billion stimulus program?

b.    If not, what economic policies does he believe will put Alaskans back to work?

5.    Does Scott McAdams support the President’s call for allowing tax rates on 50% of small business income to go up at the end of the year?

a.    If so, does he believe that tax increases will help stimulate job creation?

b.    If not, does he believe the President and Democrats in Congress have pursued the wrong economic policies?
