In Ohio, Politico reports that failed jobs czar Lee Fisher’s funding is drying up as he enters the campaign’s final two weeks “on life support.”
Ohio Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher’s sinking Senate campaign is entering the final two weeks on life support, with a fresh campaign finance report offering the most stark evidence to date of how far his prospects have fallen. Fisher posted one of the worst Senate fundraising performances of the quarter of either party, raising slightly more than $1 million in the sprawling Midwestern battleground state and leaving him with just $376,000 on hand as of Sept. 30. His Republican opponent, former Bush administration budget director Rob Portman, raised $2.8 million over the past three months and had $6.2 million left to spend at the beginning of the month.
