Liberal Democrat Decides Having the Government Live Within Its Means is Too Unreasonable a Request
While efforts continue in Congress to pass meaningful spending reforms that will rein in the $14.4 trillion debt, and protect Medicare and Social Security for future generations, liberal Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin’s (D-WI) streak of opposing every single proposal continued this evening in Washington.
Baldwin tonight voted against legislation that would cut government spending now, cap it in the future and approve a constitutional amendment to balance the federal budget. In doing so, Baldwin continued to make clear that her alternative is to tax, spend and raise the debt limit without any changes to the way she and her fellow Washington Democrats have done business.
“Instead of working to ensure the federal government lives within its means, just like every Wisconsin family has to do, Tammy Baldwin has made clear she would rather tax, spend and raise America’s credit card limit to pay for her reckless spending policies,” National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Chris Bond said today. “Baldwin clearly has no regard to the tremendous burden her policies – like the failed $787 billion stimulus and government-run healthcare – have placed on future Wisconsinites.”
