It’s Been 1,000 Days Since Brown & His Democrat Colleagues Have Passed A Budget
It’s been 1,000 days since liberal United States Senator Sherrod Brown and his Democrat colleagues who control the Senate have passed a budget and today the National Republican Senatorial Committee has unveiled a new web video reminding Ohioans that Brown has failed to perform the most basic function of a U.S. Senator.
Additionally, the web ad highlights the fact that during his bid for the U.S. Senate, Brown campaigned against the reckless spending in Washington and expressed a strong commitment to restoring fiscal discipline to our country, which he has failed to uphold.
Notably, it only took 410 days to build the Empire State Building, yet Brown still needs more time to pass a budget that will rein in his reckless spending habits that are bankrupting our country.
“It’s simply remarkable that it took less time to build the Empire State Building than it has for Sherrod Brown to pass a budget that will rein in his reckless spending habits,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Jahan Wilcox. “With our national debt at $15.2 trillion, Ohioans need a Senator who will actually do their job and pass a budget to help restore our country’s fiscal house.”
BACKGROUND …
SHERROD BROWN CAMPAIGNED ON FISCAL REFORM
SHERROD BROWN: “I Stood Up To A President Of My Own Party . . . In Support Of The Balance Budget Amendment, In Restoring Fiscal Sanity To Our Government. I agree with Senator Voinovich that Mike DeWine and others have betrayed conservative principles of limited government. I want to go to the Senate and work with Senator Voinovich on sound tax policy that benefits the middle class, without burying our grandchildren in debt.” (Ohio Senate Debate, City Club Of Cleveland, http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/OhioSenateDebate, 10/27/06)
