Congresswoman Says She Was Nervous To Meet Them 

Last week, embattled U.S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley – who refuses to discuss her ongoing ethics investigation – left her Las Vegas Congressional District to meet with voters in Elko and during this meeting she told them that she was “nervous” to meet with them, but quickly realized that there was nothing to be afraid of.  

Berkley also thanked the Clark County Democrat Party – not the Elko County Democrat Party – for hosting her.

This isn’t the first time Berkley has insulted rural Nevadans because in 2001, she told Roll Call she wouldn’t have time to address any of their needs.

Additionally, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Berkley vehemently fought against efforts to have either rural Nevada or even urban Las Vegas included in her congressional district.

“Given that Congresswoman Shelley Berkley vehemently fought against representing  anyone other than her Las Vegas constituents, is anyone really surprised that she was nervous to meet with folks in rural Nevada?” asked National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Jahan Wilcox.  “This further reiterates just how out of touch the embattled Congresswoman from Las Vegas is with the Silver State.”
