After ramming through their job-killing healthcare bill – which hit small businesses with over $500 billion in new taxes – President Barack Obama and liberal United States Senator Bill Nelson are heading to Florida Atlantic University where they will tell small business owners that in Washington they are again working to raise their taxes.
These additional dollars that Obama and Nelson are advocating for would be used to fund their big government policies, like their failed $825 billion stimulus – which was supposed to ‘create or save’ 206,000 jobs in the Sunshine State – and their $1.76 trillion job-killing healthcare bill.
Notably, asking Floridians to pay higher taxes is nothing new for Nelson because during his career in the Senate, he has voted over 150 times in favor of higher taxes.
“Bill Nelson has voted over 150 times in favor of higher taxes and once again he’s asking Florida’s job creators to bankroll his reckless spending habits,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Jahan Wilcox. “If President Obama and liberal U.S. Senator Nelson feel an overriding sense of guilt about their binge spending record in Washington – which includes a failed stimulus and a costly government-run healthcare law – then they ought to send a personal check to the IRS.”
