Over the last several years, Iowa families, workers and businesses have heard about the disastrous implications that ObamaCare will have on them and the economy, but today, Iowans in Sioux City are seeing first-hand the disastrous impact of Congressman Bruce Braley’s health care takeover.
According to the Sioux City Journal: “Citing concerns about the new federal health insurance law, Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield said Wednesday it will shutter its First Administrators office in Sioux City, eliminating 106 jobs.”
Now that the ObamaCare reality is far from Bruce Braley’s promise of “legislation [that] will provide much-needed relief for thousands of businesses,” he’s silent. In fact, Braley is running as fast as he can from the taxes, mandates, and fees imposed by his vote.
SHOT

CHASER
“Sioux City insurance office to close; 106 local jobs lost – Citing concerns about the new federal health insurance law, Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield said Wednesday it will shutter its First Administrators office in Sioux City, eliminating 106 jobs.
“…Wellmark, Iowa’s largest health insurer, attributed the decision to the “ever-increasing number and complexity of federal regulations, mandates and the rising costs associated with these changes.” Major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, which revamps the nation’s health care system, take effect next year.
“After a “thorough review,” Wellmark concluded it was “simply not cost effective” to modify the FAI Information Technology system to meet the new rules and regulations.” (Sioux City Journal, Sioux City insurance office to close; 106 local jobs lost, 7/10/2013)
OUR TAKE
“This morning, families and workers across Sioux City woke up to see first-hand the devastating impact of Bruce Braley’s destructive ObamaCare at work,” said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. “Braley promised Iowans that the health care takeover would be ‘good for Iowa’, and ignored experts’ warnings and concerned Iowans who said that ObamaCare would hurt businesses and the middle class, and not allow people to keep the care that they have if they like it. The reality is Braley’s ObamaCare rhetoric was nothing more than trial attorney jargon at work that has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare for Iowa’s small businesses. Now, while Iowa businesses and workers struggle under the weight of ObamaCare, Bruce Braley is silent.”
