Boulder Liberal Mark Udall Afraid Of Boulder Roots?

Boulder Liberal Mark Udall seems to be afraid that Coloradans might associate him with his hometown of Boulder. CongressDaily reports:

Although records of his residence and his voting registration make clear he lives in Boulder, his campaign and congressional offices present him as being from Eldorado Springs.

Udall appears to be dis-associating himself with Boulder because of the his far-left liberal record that is more inline with the town of Boulder than the state of Colorado as a whole:

Wadhams went on to say that Udall did a very good job representing his district, but he suggested that Boulder is out of the mainstream in terms of the rest of the state. He pointed out that Udall twice signed on as a co-sponsor to Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich's bill to establish a Department of Peace. Wadhams ticked off a couple of other issues, including his votes on the Card Check bill and against a Colorado water project to suggest that Schaffer's campaign is fully prepared to make the case that Udall is too liberal. Sen. Graham Fighting For Gas Tax Relief

Two years ago, and with much fanfare, the Democrats announced their "commonsense plan" to lower gas prices and spoke of the need to make more of America's energy available to the American people.

When Democrats took control of the Senate last January, gas was $2.32 per gallon according to AAA. Since then gas has risen to $3.53 per gallon.

So where is the Democrat plan you might ask? Well, there is none!

Thankfully Republicans led by Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham are doing something to lower gas prices:

Gas Tax Holiday To Be Introduced By Graham

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said he will propose suspending the federal tax of 18.4 cents a gallon for the summer in a measure on the Senate floor as early as next week.

"On a very short-term basis, I think Sen. (John) McCain's got a really good idea -- relieve that tax," said Graham, R-S.C.

Tell Senator John McCain that you support his gas tax plan here.

More Landrieu-Abramoff Ties?

The Dead Pelican in Louisiana is doing some great investigative reporting on Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu. Last summer, they discovered that one of Landrieu's new staffers had ties to Jack Abramoff.

Now it appears that The Dead Pelican has uncovered that Mary Landrieu has even more ties to Abramoff:

THE DEAD PELICAN expects the U.S. Senate contest between State Treasurer John Kennedy and U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu to be heated. One issue that is expected to gain traction is the Landrieu connection to Jack Abramoff, former lobbyist and convicted felon.

Landrieu will likely face some difficult questions in the upcoming race on this issue.

Landrieu claims she never took money from Abramoff -- even though records indicate money she received went through him. There are also questions about Landrieu hiring a former Abramoff staffer that was instrumental in funneling Abramoff's money -- an ethically suspect move during a reelection campaign. Details below.

This new cloud of ethical questions comes on the heels of reports that Landrieu was tapping more money from one of the key figures of the scandal that caused the non-partisan Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington to file an ethics complaint against Landrieu. Landrieu has yet to answer key questions in the earmark scandal.

Do You Have A Question For Barack Obama?

The RNC has a new feature over at www.CanWeAsk.com asking people to submit their own question for Barack Obama in text and video formats.

While the RNC is asking for questions about Barack Obama, we still haven't received responses from Al Franken, Mary Landrieu, Mark Udall, Tom Udall, Ronnie Musgrove, Mark Warner or John Kerry if they will be supporting/endorsing Barack Obama, a man who calls small-town America "bitter."

Jeanne Shaheen: Serial Flip-Flopper

The newly launched Now! Hampshire offers an exclusive interview with Senator John Sununu where he outlines his Democrat opponent Jeanne Shaheen's serial flip-flopper problem:

Sununu: Shaheen Lacks Credibility On Key Issues

Former Democratic Gov. Jeanne Shaheen lacks credibility on issues such as taxes and the Iraq War according to Republican Sen. John Sununu in an exclusive freewheeling interview with Now! Hampshire.

Sununu and Shaheen are expected to battle this year for the US Senate seat Sununu captured over Shaheen in 2002.

"She supported the Bush tax cuts, now she's against them. She supported our involvement in Iraq, and now she has changed her mind. She took a pledge back when she was governor not to impose a broadbased tax, and then she pushed and tried to give the state a sales tax that would have devastated our economy," said Sununu.

In addition to highlighting Shaheen's flip-flops on tax cuts and Iraq, the NRSC has also outlined Jeanne Shaheen's record of raising taxes and failing New Hampshire's children at www.TheShaheenRecord.com.

Welcome To The Race, Kay Hagan!

The NRSC welcomes tax-and-spend liberal Kay Hagan to the North Carolina Senate race by highlighting her record in the state legislature:
  • North Carolina budgets increased by $8.1 billion, or 64 percent while Kay Hagan sat on the budget committee! (Robert Lamme, "Session Offers A Mixed Bag Of Outcomes," News & Record, October 31, 1998; "The Joint Conference Committee Report On The Continuation, Expansion And Capital Budgets," House Bill 1473, North Carolina General Assembly, July 27, 2007)

  • While Hagan sat on the budget committee, the state and local tax burden ranking increased more than any other state since 2000! (Curtis S. Dubay, "North Carolina's Temporary Tax Increases Closer To Permanence," Tax Foundation, www.taxfoundation.org/blog/printer/22332.html, April 12, 2007)

  • Hagan proposed increasing taxes on cigarettes, beer and liquor by $330 million! (News & Observer, June 12, 2003)
We're confident that North Carolina voters will say nay to Kay Hagan. More from the press office.

Breast Cancer Coalition Honors Sen. Sununu

The National Breast Cancer Coalition recently recognized Senator John Sununu for his support in the fight to prevent breast cancer, Foster's Daily Democrat reports:

The National Breast Cancer Coalition has honored U.S. Sen. John Sununu, R-NH, with a "Certificate of Excellence" in recognition of his support in the fight to prevent breast cancer.

New Hampshire representatives of the National Breast Cancer Coalition -- Jane Edmunds of Hollis, Nancy Ryan of Lee, and Sue Holmes of Hollis -- presented Sununu with the award on recently in his Capitol Hill office.

"Breast cancer will take the lives of over 40,000 women across the country this year -- hundreds of them from New Hampshire. Great strides have been made in the fight to prevent this tragic disease, due in large measure to the leadership of Nancy Ryan, Chair of the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition and her fellow members," Sununu said. "These statistics show how much work remains to be done, and I continue my commitment to fighting for passage of the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act. Research and awareness are key tools in this battle that will help bring about a decline in the incidence and death rate from breast cancer. The highly successful breast cancer research fund raising stamp has been a great benefit in helping to fund this fight."

Sununu co-sponsored the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act in the 108th, 109th, and the current session of Congress. The legislation directs the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to provide grants for the development of eight research centers across the country that would be responsible for examining the potential links between breast cancer and the environment.
