GOP surging with female recruits for 2010
Thu Sep 17 — 4:52pm
The Hill’s Aaron Blake writes on the increasing number of strong female candidates in the 2010 GOP recruiting class. It’s been a while since Republicans recruited as many solid candidates as they have this cycle, so that’s part of the reason for the surge in female candidates. But the GOP already has more female recruits than do the Democrats, and they could wind up with women running in about half of their big challenger and open-seat races in 2010.

Harry Reid's Mixed Messages on Baucus Health Care Proposal
Wed Sep 16 — 9:24pm
As you know, the NRSC has for months pointed out Harry Reid’s pattern of saying one thing back home in Nevada versus something completely different back in Washington. However, rarely, if ever, have we seen this as clearly as today.
In case you missed it, Senator Reid apparently issued two different press statements today regarding the Baucus health care proposal - with seemingly contrary messages -- one to Nevada reporters and one far different to the national press corps. Please see for yourself ...

More bad news for Michael Bennet
Wed Sep 16 — 12:39pm
It's rapidly shaping up to be a bad week Senator Michael Bennet.....First, this is probably not the type of press the appointed Senator from Colorado would like to see on the same day its formally announced that he will be facing a very serious primary challenge from the former CO State House Speaker.......
Unfortunately, it gets worse - note what Gov. Ritter says about his appointment of Sen. Bennet......
Between Specter and Bennet, it seems those Senate Democrat leaders who have endorsed them are going to have their hands full this cycle.

Tuesday Round-up
Tue Sep 15 — 2:10pm
Yesterday's bi-partisan vote to block the controversial group ACRORN from receiving HUD funding saw New York Senator's Schumer and Gillibrand with opposing votes. The Politico has a great piece on how even liberal Senator Schumer saw issue with funding, while Gillibrand seems concerned only with playing to the far-left base.
The Hill reports that the Colorado Senate race has quickly gotten rocky for Senator Bennet.
Despite President Obama's speech last week, a new USA Today/Gallup poll shows his speech "failed to galvinize public opinion the way the White House had hoped."
