It’s not enough that Shelley Berkley is under investigation for violating Ethics Rules — she has to mislead voters about that investigation. Nevadans deserve to know why Berkley is trying to mislead them and which statement is actually true. On September 1st of this year, Berkley told a reporter that her office “did contact the ethics committee” and just seven days later to a different reporter she denies having made that statement. Watch Berkley change her statement below.
Hand-Picked Obama Candidate Running from ObamaCare in Ad
Richard Carmona from Arizona was hand-picked by President Obama to be a US Senate Candidate. Obama picked up the phone and called Carmona urging him to run. Obama knows that “Rubber Stamp Rich” Carmona will be a reliable vote for his liberal agenda. Why did Carmona release a new campaign ad against ObamaCare? Richard Carmona may think he can trick Arizona voters, but the facts show he actually supported it. This is especially odd considering Carmona was a strong supporter of the job-killing healthcare bill which cut $716 billion from Medicare, and costs taxpayers $1.76 trillion. It is clear that Carmona will say anything to win this election, even attempt to mask his ultra-liberal views. Arizona can’t forget that Democrats in Washington are counting on him to be a vote for Obama’s big-spending liberal agenda.
Murphy Getting Under the Table Deals?
US Senate Candidate from Connecticut, Chris Murphy, has gone to extreme lengths in order to keep his financial troubles under-wraps. This makes one wonder what it is that Murphy is hiding. It was just recently revealed that Murphy faced foreclosure on his home shortly after being elected to Congress. Additionally, Murphy failed to pay his rent in 2003. Furthermore, it seems possible that Murphy received a sweetheart deal from Webster Bank in exchange for federal bailout money. Murphy was able to secure a below-market mortgage loan at 4.99%, not long after defaulting on his original mortgage. Shortly after, the bank received a bailout from the federal government to the tune of $400 million. Also notable is the fact the bank is both a campaign contributor and has paid Murphy for legal services. In a statement issued last week, opponent Linda McMahon’s campaign manager Corry Bliss raised several questions about the…
Nearly 400,000 Children with Nowhere to go, While Teachers Union say 16% Raise Isn’t Enough
This morning, instead of heading into work, 29,000 members of the Chicago Teachers Union began a strike. This means nearly 400,000 children will have nowhere to go, and working parents will have to scramble to find daycare for them until the strike is resolved. With obvious crime issues rampant in Chicago, it is clear the streets are the last place any parent would want their child wandering when they should be in the classroom. Teachers began picketing this morning, despite being offered a 16% pay raise over four years, doubling a previous offer. Additionally, Chicago Public Schools president David Vitale said the Teachers union and the district were very close to cutting a deal before the teachers went on strike. “It was a strike of choice … it’s unnecessary, it’s avoidable and it’s wrong,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said of the strike. One of the teachers’ biggest concerns was a new…
Disappointing Jobs Report is Reminiscent of Carter Administration
The August jobs report was released this morning with several disappointing factors. First, only 96,000 jobs were added. Second, the unemployment rate fell slightly, but that is only because many people have given up looking for a job. The market for jobs has become so grim, people have quit looking altogether. In fact, since Obama took office in January of 2009, the jobs participation rate has consistently declined, from 65.7% to 63.5%. This rate is even lower than when Jimmy Carter failed to be reelected to a second term as President in 1981 (63.9%). Obama and Carter have other similarities, too. Both Presidents have struggled enormously with gas prices, more than any other presidents. Under Obama, gas prices have increased 103.79%, and with Carter they increased 103.77%. Looking at the jobs participation number and gas price increases, it could be argued that Obama is an even worse economic leader than…

Joe Donnelly rammed an $825 billion stimulus into law that was supposed to “create and save much needed jobs and help get our economy back on track,” yet today’s jobs report reiterates that their failed economic policies are not working. As the Wall Street Journal reports: JOB GROWTH SLOWS SHARPLY IN AUGUST: Job growth slowed sharply in August, the Labor Department said Friday. Total nonfarm payrolls increased by 96,000, lower than the 125,000 gain expected by Wall Street economists. Adding to the sense of weakness, job growth in the past two months were revised down by 41,000. The unemployment rate declined to 8.1% in August from 8.3% in the previous month but the drop was due to a smaller labor force. Economists forecast the unemployment rate…
