BROKEN PROMISES: Non-Partisan Medicare Chief: Sherrod Brown’s Health Care Overhaul Raises Costs, Strips Americans Of Coverage

Despite the Democrats’ many promises to the contrary, Medicare’s non-partisan Chief Actuary reported to Congress yesterday that U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s (D-OH) massive health care overhaul will strip Americans of their coverage and fail to control costs. As the Associated Press reports: Two of the central promises of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law are unlikely to be fulfilled, Medicare’s independent economic expert told Congress on Wednesday. The landmark legislation probably won’t hold costs down, and it won’t let everybody keep their current health insurance if they like it, Chief Actuary Richard Foster told the House Budget Committee. His office is responsible for independent long-range cost estimates. The independent actuary’s report to Congress comes on the heels of a new Kaiser Health poll, conducted with the Harvard School of Public Health, which shows that ObamaCare is less popular today than at any point since Brown and the Democrats rammed…
