After he cast the deciding vote, Senator Feingold predicted that ObamaCare was going to look "pretty damn good."
The results are in; Senator Feingold saddled Wisconsinites with more than $1.8 billion in additional taxes over the next decade and average premium hikes of 4.7%. Milwaukee-based Assurant Health blamed ObamaCare as it went out of business and Humana announced last month that it will leave Wisconsin’s market in 2017.
Now, just like in his new home state of California, the Milwaukee Business Journal reports that UnitedHealth – the insurer with the largest market share in Wisconsin, will exit the ObamaCare exchange:
Health insurance giant UnitedHealthcare will not sell products on the Obamacare individual exchange in Wisconsin for the 2017 health plan year. The health insurer with the largest market share in Wisconsin sent notices Tuesday to insurance brokers in Wisconsin about exiting the market in the state …The departure of UnitedHealth is significant because of the company’s stature as one of the largest insurers in Wisconsin and nationwide. Another major health insurer, Humana, disclosed in May that it was dropping individual product in Wisconsin and several other states.
Health insurers are fleeing the state of Wisconsin because of ObamaCare faster than Senator Feingold himself.
The next time Senator Feingold wishes to dabble in predictions, we hope he’ll allow us to help: the utter failures resulting from his deciding vote for ObamaCare will haunt his desperate attempt to return to Washington.
