As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported late last year, the race between Senate Homeland Security Committee Ron Johnson and Russ Feingold – Barack Obama’s foreign policy cheerleader, offers Wisconsinites a "stark divide on national security." That stark divide will become particularly evident next Tuesday, when Chairman Johnson leads the Committee’s efforts to ensure that Americans are kept safe following the Brussels terror attack.

From working to pass the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act to leading the charge in calling for a comprehensive strategy to destroy ISIS, Chairman Johnson has emerged as the preeminent voice in the Senate for the safety and security of the American people.

From his lone vote against intelligence surveillance of terrorists following 9/11 to his vote against creating the Department of Homeland Security, Senator Feingold utilized his eighteen years in Washington as the preeminent voice for dangerously weak policies.

As Wisconsinites continue to learn more about the erosion of Senator Feingold’s values, it’s unfortunate that his commitment to recklessness on national security is the one principle he decided not to abandon – going "all in" on the Iran deal and "fully support[ing]" President Obama’s campaign promise to close Gitmo.

That contrast between Chairman Johnson’s leadership and Senator Feingold’s recklessness helps explain why "Russ" and his campaign are so eager to run from his two decades in DC – particularly as conflicts around the world continue to escalate.
