Menendez Is Only Candidate For Senate In New Jersey Who Voted For Law That Rations Health Care, Cuts Medicare

As liberal U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and his fellow Washington Democrats continue to demagogue the important issue of Medicare reform, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) today reminded New Jersey voters that at the ballot box next year, Menendez will be the only candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey who voted into law a bill that will ration health care, cut Medicare by $500 billion, and keep Medicare on its current track toward bankruptcy. “Despite the Democrats’ political posturing, voters know Bob Menendez voted for his party’s massive health care overhaul, which rations health care for seniors and cuts Medicare by $500 billion,” said NRSC spokesman Chris Bond.  “Senator Menendez’s decision to ignore New Jersey’s best interests and vote for the health care overhaul’s tax hikes and Medicare cuts will be a key issue as he prepares to face voters at the polls next year.”

Government Report: Menendez’s Failed Stimulus Sent Billions Of Dollars To Tax Cheats

Taxpayer Cash Sent To Thousands Of Tax Cheats Thanks To Menendez A new non-partisan government report revealed today that – in addition to its failure to create jobs while helping drive our national debt past $14.3 trillion – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s (D-NJ) failed $787 billion stimulus handed billions of taxpayer dollars to tax cheats. As the non-partisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported today: At least 3,700 Recovery Act contract and grant recipients—including prime recipients, subrecipients, and vendors—are estimated to owe more than $750 million in known unpaid federal taxes as of September 30, 2009, and received over $24 billion in Recovery Act funds. Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that the problem could actually be even worse, noting: “[t]he report said the tax delinquents accounted for nearly 6 percent of the 63,000 contractors and grantees examined and cautioned that the real number might be higher because the known tax debt…

Does Menendez Believe That Senate Democrats Should Offer A Budget Proposal?

755 Days & Counting Since Senate Democrats Passed  A Budget It’s been 755 days since U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and the Democrats who run the Senate have performed the most basic job function of Congress by passing a federal budget.  Additionally in the 112th Congress, Democrats like Menendez haven’t even offered a budget proposal, because their leaders – Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) – have stated that not only do Democrats not have the time to propose a budget, but it would be “foolish” of them to do so. “New Jersey voters deserve to know if Senator Menendez agrees with his party leaders that it would be ‘foolish’ for Democrats to finally offer a budget proposal, or if he believes it’s time for Senate Democrats to do their job and pass a budget,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Chris Bond.  “With a national…

Menendez, Senate Democrats Say It Would Be “Foolish” To Do Their Jobs

754 Days & Counting Since Senate Democrats Passed  A Budget It’s been more than 750 days since U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and the Democrats who run the Senate have performed the most basic job function of Congress by passing a federal budget – during which time the federal debt has risen by an additional $3.1 trillion. But despite our nation’s growing fiscal crisis, Senate Democrats have yet to even propose a budget in the current 112th Congress, let alone debate and pass one, and Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) now claims that it would be “foolish” for Democrats to attempt to do their jobs by proposing a budget. As the Los Angeles Times reports: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said it would be “foolish” for Democrats to propose their own federal budget for 2012, despite continued attacks from Republicans that the party is ducking its responsibility to put…

750 Days And $3.1 Trillion More in Debt Later, Menendez & Senate Democrats Still Haven’t Passed A Budget

In the 112th Congress, Senate Democrats Haven’t Even Proposed A Budget As a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2006, Bob Menendez (D-NJ) – who is the only sitting U.S. Senator currently under federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice – repeatedly attempted to present himself as a fiscal hawk and routinely pilloried what he called the “credit card mentality” in Washington. Yet today marks a full 750 days since Menendez and the Democrat-controlled Senate have passed ANY budget, let alone a balanced budget, something which Menendez has also never once helped to pass since coming to Washington.  In fact, in the current 112th Congress, Senate Democrats have yet to even propose a budget, let alone debate and pass one.  And in just the 750 days since Menendez and his fellow Democrats who run the Senate have failed to pass a budget, the federal debt has risen by an…

Menendez Fiddles While New Jersey Families Suffer From $4-A-Gallon Gas

Even Fellow Democrats Call Menendez Proposal “Laughable” & “A Gimmick” As a new USA Today/Gallup survey shows nearly 70 percent of Americans suffering “financial hardship” thanks to a national average of nearly $4-per-gallon gas, New Jersey voters are reminded that not only is liberal U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) refusing to work with Republicans on bipartisan efforts to lower the price at the pump, he is actually attempting to drive the price of fuel up by raising energy taxes. As USA Today reports: As gas prices hover near $4 a gallon, nearly seven in 10 Americans say the high cost of fuel is causing financial hardship for their families, a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds. More than half say they have made major changes to compensate for the higher prices, ranging from shorter trips to cutting back on vacation travel. For 21%, the impact is so dramatic they say their standard…
