Day 5: Tester Truth Watch

Tester Betting That No One Will Hold Him Accountable Despite lecturing others on the importance of honesty, saying “[l]et’s stick with the facts. Let’s move forward. Let’s be honest. We do that, the country will be a better place,” liberal U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) refuses to hold himself to the same standard –  falsely denying in an interview with KRSQ radio in Billings that – after getting himself elected in 2006 on an anti-lobbyist platform – he is now the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash in the 2012 election cycle. Click Here To Hear Audio Of Jon Tester Misleading Montana Voters The truth is, the Center for Responsive Politics – an independent watchdog, accepted by both parties and the news media as the gold standard in campaign finance reporting – shows beyond a doubt that Tester is the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash in the 2012 election…

In “Shocking” Power Grab, Tester & Democrat Party Bosses Use “Nuclear Option” To Quash Minority Rights

In what Capitol Hill newspaper The Hill called a “shocking development” last night, liberal U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and his Senate Democrat bosses rashly used what is known as the “nuclear option” to suddenly kill a key Senate rule that protects the democratic rights of the minority party. Politico reports that the power grab “threatens to further inflame partisan tensions and stymie legislative action,” while the Atlantic notes that it “may fundamentally diminish the powers of the minority party in the Senate,” and that “both liberals and conservatives are troubled by what may come of it.” “Last night’s vote is further proof that Jon Tester is willing to recklessly put his Washington Democrat bosses’ narrow partisan agenda ahead of the best interests of Montana and the nation,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Chris Bond.  “It’s bad enough that Tester voted with President Obama 97 percent of the…

Day 4: Tester Truth Watch

Will He Finally Explain False Statement, Or Refuse To Be Held Accountable? Liberal Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) likes to lecture others on the importance of honesty, saying “[l]et’s stick with the facts. Let’s move forward. Let’s be honest. We do that, the country will be a better place.” But sadly, Tester refuses to hold himself to the same standard, falsely denying in an interview with KRSQ radio in Billings that – after getting himself elected in 2006 on an anti-lobbyist platform – he is now the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash in the 2012 election cycle. Click Here To Hear Audio Of Jon Tester Misleading Montana Voters In reality, the Center for Responsive Politics – an independent watchdog, accepted by both parties and the news media as the gold standard in campaign finance reporting – shows beyond a doubt that Tester is the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash…

Day 3: Tester Truth Watch

Week Drags On, Yet No Explanation From Tester For False Statement On Air Whether he’s downplaying his votes to give lifetime Supreme Court appointments to anti-gun activist judges or refusing to admit that he has taken more lobbyist campaign cash than any other candidate this election cycle, Jon Tester has a problem telling Montanans the truth, and as the week drags on, he still refuses to explain why he denied on the air the demonstrable fact that – after using anti-lobbyist rhetoric to get himself elected in 2006 – he is now the top recipient of lobbyists’ campaign cash in the 2012 election cycle. As he continued his revisionist history tour of Montana last week, Tester falsely denied this fact to KRSQ radio in Billings, saying “that’s not true,” but failing to explain why he believes this independent watchdog is lying about his record. Click Here To Hear Audio Of…

As Senate Dems Plan New Tax To Pay For Yet Another “Stimulus” Bill, Where Exactly Does Tester Stand?

As Senate Democrat leaders prepare to introduce another job-killing tax hike in order to pay for President Obama’s latest “stimulus” proposal, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) called on Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) to step forward and tell voters where he stands. As the Associated Press reports: Senate Democrats are scrambling to rewrite portions of President Barack Obama’s jobs bill, even as Obama tries to blame Republicans for Congress’ failure to act. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell moved to call the president’s bluff Tuesday by pushing for a quick Senate vote on the bill, but Democratic leader Harry Reid derailed the effort… In the Senate, Democrats made plans to jettison provisions that Obama recommended to pay for the $447 billion jobs bill, substituting them with a tax increase on millionaires, officials said. Meanwhile, Tester’s fellow Democrats remain deeply divided on the idea of raising taxes, with a number of Senate…

Day 2: Tester Truth Watch

Why Won’t He Answer For False Statements, Hypocrisy, Broken Promises? As he ran for U.S. Senate in 2006, Jon Tester (D-MT) said that Montanans “need the greatest representation, not encumbered by high-dollared lobbyists,” and promised “I won’t sell Montana down the road by cutting deals with K Street lobbyists.” But just 5 years later – after rubber-stamping President Barack Obama’s agenda 97 percent of the time in Washington – the Center for Responsive Politics – an independent watchdog, accepted by both parties and the news media as the gold standard in campaign finance reporting – shows beyond a doubt that Tester is the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash in the 2012 election cycle. But as he continued his revisionist history tour of Montana last week, Tester falsely denied this cut and dry fact to KRSQ radio in Billings, saying “that’s not true,” but failing to explain why he believes…

Senator Tester Is Not Telling Montanans The Truth

Denies Demonstrable Facts In Effort To Distract Montanans From His Record As he continued his revisionist history tour of Montana last week, liberal U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) lectured, “[l]et’s stick with the facts. Let’s move forward. Let’s be honest. We do that, the country will be a better place.” We could not agree more – which is why it is so troubling that Senator Tester is not telling Montanans the truth about his record.  In fact, he is going out of his way to deny demonstrable facts about his hypocrisy and broken promises. In a radio interview Thursday on KRSQ in Billings, Tester falsely denied that – after campaigning in 2006 as the scourge of Washington lobbyists – he is now the #1 recipient of lobbyist campaign cash in Washington for the 2012 election cycle, saying “that’s not true.” The Center for Responsive Politics – an independent watchdog accepted…

NRSC Launches New Web Ad, “Jon Tester: #1 in Lobbyist Money”

Highlights Hypocrisy, Broken Promises, Rubber-Stamp Support For Obama The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) today released a new web ad, “Jon Tester: #1 in Lobbyist Money,” to highlight the incumbent’s hypocritical rhetoric, broken promises, and rubber-stamp support for President Barack Obama’s unpopular agenda in Washington. As a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2006, Tester presented himself as a different sort of politician, telling Montanans they deserved representation “not encumbered by high-dollared lobbyists,” and promised he wouldn’t “sell Montana down the road by cutting deals with K Street lobbyists.” But as non-partisan watchdog OpenSecrets.org shows, five years later Tester has taken more lobbyist campaign cash than any other Member of Congress during the 2012 election cycle. Earlier this month, Tester asserted in an interview with KGVO’s Janette McDonald that he is not heavily involved with lobbyists.  But despite promising voters he would return to Montana “every weekend,” Tester was recently caught…

Once Again, Tester Stands With Liberal Party Leaders Ahead Of Disaster Relief For American Families

Blocks Bill To Replenish FEMA & Avert Government Shutdown, Then Skips Town With thousands of Americans across the country desperately needing disaster relief funds in the wake of devastating hurricanes, tornados, floods, wildfires and earthquakes, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) stood behind his liberal party leadership in Washington today and blocked a bill that includes $3.7 billion in immediate disaster relief assistance, while averting a government shutdown next week. The bill was blocked despite acknowledgments from these very same Democrat leaders that FEMA “could run out of money as soon as Monday.”  Yet, what’s more, instead of staying in Washington and working through the weekend to address this very serious problem, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid announced there will be no more votes in the Senate until Monday. “Once again, Jon Tester had a choice to make today – to stand behind Harry Reid and her fellow liberals in Washington,…

After Failed Stimulus, Government Health Care & Record Debt, Obama & Tester Push Largest Tax Hike In U.S. History

In 2009, Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) joined President Obama in passing an $825 billion “stimulus” that failed to create the promised jobs.  In 2010, Tester joined President Obama in passing a $2.5 trillion government health care bill that mandates every American to buy a health care plan.  Two weeks ago President Obama proposed yet another $400 billion in new “stimulus” spending. And today, just 48 hours after Tester doubled down in support of his tax-and-spend record at the Democrat State Party convention in Great Falls, President Obama proposed the largest tax hike in U.S. history – a $1.5 trillion tax increase on investors and small businesses that he says is needed to pay for their reckless spending agenda, which has driven the federal debt past $14.6 trillion. As a reminder, when he campaigned for the Senate in 2006, Tester routinely attacked Republican Senator Conrad Burns, for not only raising taxes…
