In yet another reminder that liberal U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s (D-NJ) $787 billion stimulus failed to create jobs while driving our national debt past $14.3 trillion, the U.S. Department of Labor reports today that national unemployment has risen again to 9.1 percent. Today’s rise in unemployment is just the latest development to highlight the failure of Menendez’s tax-and-spend economic policies in Washington. Menendez claimed the $787 billion stimulus would “create and save 100,000 jobs in [New Jersey] during the next two years.” But New Jersey has lost 84,778 jobs since the stimulus passed in February 2009. Also notably, though Menendez claimed that “New Jersey is going to do exceptionally well” from the stimulus, New Jersey actually received less stimulus funding per capita than the national average.
