Obama & Baldwin Double-Down – Again – In Support Of Job-Killing Taxes, More Washington Spending & A Record Debt

Baldwin hasn’t met a tax increase she didn’t like, while increasing debt to record number Despite President Obama’s campaign promise of fiscal responsibility, he and the most liberal member of the Wisconsin congressional delegation, Tammy Baldwin, have added an additional $4.7 trillion to the national debt in just the last three years – bringing America’s total debt to over $15.3 trillion.  Yet, instead of reversing course on their failed economic policies, President Obama and Tammy Baldwin are doubling-down on their call for higher taxes, more Washington spending and an even bigger federal debt. The President today introduced his annual budget which includes $1.5 trillion in new taxes, much of which has previously been endorsed by Baldwin, while ensuring a fourth straight year of trillion-dollar-plus deficits.  What’s worse – Baldwin’s Democrat friends in the Senate have said they do not even intend to pass a budget for the third straight year,…

Baldwin Only Member of Energy & Commerce Committee to Skip Every Vote on Job-Creating Energy Bill, But Made Time for Liberal Radio Host Ed Schultz

Tammy Baldwin, the most liberal member of the Wisconsin congressional delegation, was the only member – Republican or Democrat – on the 53-member Energy & Commerce Committee to skip every single vote in yesterday’s Committee markup of a job-creating energy bill — H.R. 3548, the North American Energy Access Act. A key goal of this legislation is to save the Keystone XL pipeline, a shovel-ready jobs and energy security project that President Obama delayed and ultimately rejected.  H.R. 3548 takes politics out of the pipeline decision by removing the president’s authority over the pipeline’s permit and giving it to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  As Bloomberg News reported, “pipeline backers, including labor unions, have said the project may create as many as 20,000 jobs.” Curiously, while Congresswoman Baldwin didn’t have time for a vote on creating jobs, in contrast to all 53 of her Committee colleagues, she found time to…

1,000 Days Since Congress Has Passed A Budget

When Will Tammy Baldwin’s Democrat Colleagues Pass Budget?  It’s been 1,000 days since Tammy Baldwin’s Democrat friends who control the Senate have passed a budget and today the National Republican Senatorial Committee has unveiled a new web video reminding voters in Wisconsin that Harry Reid, Tammy Baldwin and the Democrats in Washington have failed to perform the most basic function of government. CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE NRSC’S LATEST WEB VIDEO Notably, it only took 353 days to build Lambeau Field, yet Baldwin’s liberal pals in the Senate still need more time to pass a budget that will rein in their reckless spending habits that are bankrupting our country. “It’s simply remarkable that it took less time to build Lambeau Field than it has for Tammy Baldwin’s liberal friends in the Senate to pass a budget that will rein in their reckless spending habits,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC)…

Congresswoman Baldwin Votes Against 2 Jobs Bills In 2 Days

Continues To Stand With Obama By Opposing Bipartisan, Common-Sense Measures In what has become a disturbing pattern, this week liberal Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin voted against two bipartisan jobs bills in two days. Both of these bills received broad bipartisan support, because they will help protect Wisconsin businesses from more government overreach and job killing regulations.  They represent the 24th and 25th bipartisan jobs bills passed by the House, and largely opposed by Baldwin, now awaiting a vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate. REGULATORY ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF 2011 (H.R. 3010):  Bipartisan legislation that “requires agencies to assess the costs and benefits” of new regulations on small businesses. Passed the House by a vote of 253-167 – Baldwin Voted Nay REGULATORY FLEXIBILITY IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 2011 (H.R. 527):  Closes loopholes used by federal agencies that allow them to impose costly, job-crushing regulations. Passed the House by a vote of…

Deficit Super Committee Dies Amid Baldwin’s Addiction To Higher Taxes & More Spending

Democrats Sought $1.3 Trillion In New Tax Hikes & $300 Billion In New Stimulus Spending, Instead of Serious Spending Cut Proposals In response to this evening’s announcement by the deficit reduction Super Committee that they were unable to reach any bipartisan agreement , the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) said the failure of leadership by Washington Democrats, and their addiction to higher taxes and more wasteful government spending, will be a defining issue in next year’s U.S. Senate campaign in Wisconsin. “After years of reckless government spending, unemployment mired at 9 percent and a $15 trillion debt that grows daily, the negotiations of the last few weeks have been a remarkable commentary on the misplaced priorities of Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and her fellow liberal Democrats. “Voters should rightfully wonder why Congresswoman Baldwin and her fellow Democrats didn’t show the same zeal for actually solving our nation’s problems as they did…

As Nat’l Debt Hits Record $15 Trillion, Liberal Baldwin Says No To Balancing Federal Budget

Instead, Wants To Continue With Reckless, Historic Spending Spree Just one day after the national debt hit a record-high $15 trillion, liberal Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) voted against balancing our federal budget, instead preferring to continue rubber-stamping President Barack Obama’s reckless spending spree in what CBS News reports is “the most rapid increase in the debt under any U.S. president.” Notably, today’s $15 trillion national debt represents more than $48,000 in debt for every American man, woman and child — a 168 percent increase since Baldwin first came to Washington in January 1999 with our national debt at $5.6 trillion. “While families and businesses in Wisconsin make hard choices to live within their means, Tammy Baldwin apparently thinks Washington should continue its reckless deficit spending spree and keep racking up debt at a record pace with no accountability,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Chris Bond today.  “Baldwin’s reckless,…

NRSC Statement On Tammy Baldwin’s Latest Fiscal Legacy – A $15 Trillion Debt

Republicans Release New Video Highlighting Baldwin’s Reckless Spending Agenda WASHINGTON — When liberal Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin first came to Washington in January 1999, the federal debt stood at $5.6 trillion – a figure which took over 200 years for our country to reach.  Yet, today, and particularly over the last three years as Baldwin has rubber-stamped every major spending initiative proposed by President Obama, the federal debt has now grown to the once-unfathomable mark of $15 trillion – a 168 percent increase and more than $48,000 for every American man, woman and child. To mark the United States Treasury reaching the $15 trillion debt mark today, and to highlight the massive spending by Congresswoman Baldwin and President Obama that has led to this point, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new web video – “$15,000,000,000,000…Siriously” “Each and every Wisconsin family and business has to make tough choices and…

As Supreme Court Prepares To Weigh In, Wisconsinites Reminded Of Baldwin’s Support For Health Care Mandate

Top Court To Examine Obama-Baldwin ‘Individual Mandate’ As the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to hear arguments on President Barack Obama’s massive health care overhaul, Wisconsin voters are reminded that liberal U.S. Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) not only voted for ObamaCare, including its onerous “individual mandate,” but supported an even more extreme version of government-run health care. The Associated Press reports: The Supreme Court said Monday it will hear arguments next March over President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul – a case that could shake the political landscape just as voters are about to decide if Obama deserves another term. The decision to hear arguments in the spring allows plenty of time for a decision in late June, just over four months before Election Day. This sets up an election-year showdown over the White House’s main domestic policy achievement. The justices announced they will hear more than five hours of arguments,…

After First $825 Billion Stimulus Failed To Live Up To Promises On Infrastructure & Jobs, Does Liberal Tammy Baldwin Want To Repeat The Same Mistake?

In 2009, liberal Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) told Wisconsinites that she would support President Barack Obama’s $825 billion stimulus because it was a “jobs” bill that would help repair America’s aging roads and bridges.  But after Baldwin helped ram the bill through the House of Representatives, it was revealed that, in fact, only 5 percent of the so-called “stimulus” was spent on infrastructure.  A few months later, it was revealed that billions of dollars were given to tax cheats and millions of dollars were spent in fictitious congressional districts, like a $1.24 million project in Wisconsin’s non-existent “55th Congressional District.” Despite the fact that it’s been widely accepted that the first stimulus was a boondoggle that never lived up to Baldwin and Obama’s promises, it appears the liberal Congresswoman wants Washington to repeat the same expensive mistake, touting her familiar rhetoric that more government spending in the name of infrastructure…

Wisconsin Requests Waiver From Obama & Baldwin’s Massive Health Care Overhaul

State Moves To Protect Wisconsinites From Destabilizing, Harmful Consequences Of $2.5 Trillion Baldwin-Obama Health Care Law As the negative consequences of President Obama and liberal Madison Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin’s (D-WI) massive health care overhaul continue to emerge, Wisconsin joins 16 other American states in requesting a waiver from fully implementing the ominous $2.5 trillion law. In requesting the waiver, Wisconsin’s Insurance Commissioner cited the looming threat that ObamaCare could destabilize the state’s individual health care insurance market, causing “harm to consumers.” As The Hill reports: “[Wisconsin] on Wednesday asked for a waiver from the law’s medical loss ratio provision, which requires health plans to spend at least 80 percent of premiums on average on medical care or reimburse customers for the difference …  ‘Without this adjustment,’ Commissioner Theodore Nickel wrote in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, “there is a reasonable likelihood that market destabilization and,…
