John Hickenlooper is having a big birthday fundraiser tonight, and we got him a little something.
“Instead of spending this 68th birthday in New Hampshire like he’d hoped, Hickenlooper has been back in Colorado desperately trying to convince voters to give him a job he said he wasn’t ‘cut out’ for,” said NRSC spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “It’s got to be tough wondering what could have been, so we’re glad to see Hickenlooper is taking a break from preparing to testify at his upcoming ethics hearing to spend time with some of his favorite donors (unless his $525/hour taxpayer-funded lawyer and donor is also attending).”
The NRSC introduced Colorado voters to the Joyride John Travel Agency back in December. The ad and brochure highlighted Hickenlooper’s ongoing ethics troubles and The Denver Post‘s discovery that Colorado taxpayers were footing the bill for Hickenlooper’s $525/hour ethics investigation defense attorney from a post-9/11 economic recovery fund.
The vanilla cake has strawberry filling and will be delivered to Hickenlooper’s birthday fundraiser later this evening.
