West Virginia Democrats are doing Joe Manchin no favors, announcing that they will bring Senate Minority Leader, and notorious New York liberal, Chuck Schumer to the state to speak at their annual dinner.
Schumer, who has relentlessly opposed President Trump’s agenda, is the head of Senate Democrats’ leadership team, which Manchin joined late last year. Manchin has been a loyal deputy to Schumer, voting with his boss 80% of the time. So will Joe Manchin join his boss in Charleston for the recently renamed Roosevelt-Kennedy dinner? Or will Manchin find some mysterious “previous commitment” that prevents him from joining his old friend Chuck on stage?
“Joe Manchin has had no problem taking his marching orders from New York liberal Chuck Schumer, so it should be no surprise if he welcomes the Minority Leader to West Virginia next month,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Perhaps Schumer and Manchin can jointly explain why they are working to block key elements of President Trump’s agenda like the border wall and defunding sanctuary cities.”
