In a move sure to give Mexico Joe Donnelly heartburn, DNC Chairman Tom Perez is bringing national Democrats’ toxic brand to Indiana today, speaking at IU’s McKinney School of Law.

Mexico Joe has tried his hardest to rhetorically distance himself from his fellow Washington Democrats, but Perez’s visit only serves as a reminder that Donnelly is a loyal foot soldier, voting with his party 78% of the time during his time in the Senate. Perez has been among the most vocal critics of President Trump, engaging in overheated rhetoric, including calling the President an ‘existential threat’ to the country. And while Mexico Joe pretends to be pro-life, despite repeatedly voting to provide taxpayer funding for abortion providers, Perez made headlines earlier this year proclaiming that if you don’t support abortion on demand, there is no room for you in the Democratic Party.

“Tom Perez’s visit to Indiana is a great reminder of what Washington Democrats, including Mexico Joe Donnelly, actually believe,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Mexico Joe can try to distance himself from his increasingly out-of-touch party, but he can’t hide from his record of loyalty to his Democratic Party bosses.”
