Majority of Hispanic Voters Denounce Democrats’ Socialist Agenda of Big Spending, Big Government, Open Borders
Washington, D.C. – Today, the NRSC released a new poll focused on Hispanic voters in 2022 Senate battleground states. The Hispanic Battleground Survey found that Hispanic voters largely reject the pillars of the Democrats’ agenda heading into the 2022 midterm elections, including wasteful spending, open borders, and banning Voter ID requirements. The poll also found that Hispanic voters value capitalism over socialism, believe too many people are living off the government’s dime, and worry that their children will not have opportunities in the United States if our nation continues down the Democrats’ preferred path.
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Democrats seem to be puzzled about why Hispanic voters are moving away from their party in droves, but the reasons could not be more clear. Republicans promote capitalism and free enterprise, individual liberties, a secure border, and smaller government. We believe that as Americans, each person is in charge of achieving their version of the American Dream. Hispanic voters are aspirational and want the freedom and opportunity that Republican policies provide. Democrats believe in big spending, big government, open borders, and fewer freedoms for hardworking families – all policies soundly rejected by Hispanic voters in our poll.
“Hispanic voters are becoming Republican because of our agenda. It’s happening right now, it isn’t something we are hoping for. It is proof that if we fight for good policy, genuinely engage the community, and do the right thing for families, Republican candidates can and will earn support from Hispanic communities across the map. The NRSC is confident the Republican message will enable us to win over more voters from all walks of life in key battleground states and retake the majority in 2022.”
