Washington, D.C. – Kyrsten Sinema is sticking to her pledge to be an independent vote for Arizona, but this independent streak is landing her in some hot water back at home.

Last weekend, the Arizona Democratic Party passed a resolution criticizing Sinema for not siding with Mark Kelly when it comes to eliminating the legislative filibuster and being a rubber stamp for the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reckless tax and spending spree. Now, progressive groups are coming for Sinema and doing all they can to oust her from the Senate. One group’s name makes its intent quite clear: Primary Sinema PAC. And another Bernie Sanders-backed super PAC, the Nuestra PAC, also launched an effort to draft Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego to primary Sinema in 2024.

Meanwhile, Arizona’s Mark Kelly – who made the same pledge as Sinema – isn’t running into the same issues ahead of his 2022 reelection bid. Instead, Mark Kelly is being cheered by Washington Democrats and liberal activist groups for his lockstep voting record with Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Bernie Sanders which has earned him the title “Washington Democrats’ Favorite Senator.”

While D.C. Democrats are choosing Kelly over Sinema, Arizonans feel differently. A newly released poll shows Arizona voters view Kyrsten Sinema more favorably than they do Mark Kelly, leaving D.C. darling Mark Kelly with a tough decision…

Will Mark Kelly stand by his colleague Kyrsten Sinema, or does he support a primary challenge organized by liberal activists in Arizona and DC?
