Politico reported this afternoon that Claire McCaskill recently treated two Senate colleagues and their wives to a lavish all-expenses-paid trip to Cancun, to the tune of $15,000.
Turns out one of those Senators was Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, whose dark money group, Majority Forward, has spent millions this year supporting McCaskill. So far, Claire has yet to ask for those ads to come down, despite her purported strong opposition to dark money groups. Makes you wonder, why has Claire stayed silent?
“If McCaskill were serious about removing dark money from politics she would ask her beach buddy Chuck Schumer to take the ads down,” said NRSC spokesman Michael McAdams. “But after 35 years in elected office, Missourians know all too well that no matter the cost Claire McCaskill only does what’s best for Claire McCaskill.”
