Washington, D.C. – Cheri Beasley claims she’s always been clear about her support for the filibuster, but that is far from the truth.
Back in September, we reminded you that Beasley said: “The reality is, it [the filibuster] has in many ways benefited Democrats and people across North Carolina.” But once she aligned herself with the radical-Left and members of Congress like Cori Bush, she began to change her tune rapidly.
Now, WRAL has done a fact-check on Beasley and her claim that her position on the filibuster has always been “very clear.” The results were not good. Cheri Beasley is shifting from a campaign with no opinions, to one that is fully in line with the radicals in the Democrat Party.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Cheri Beasley has made the decision to align herself with the most radical elements of her party. Therefore, it’s no surprise she’s been less than honest about her position on the filibuster. She once claimed the filibuster has helped North Carolina but has now changed her tune. It appears her liberal donors and allies are more important than her home state.”
