Where does Brown stand on Haspel’s confirmation?

As the vote to confirm Gina Haspel as CIA Director looms, Senators like Sherrod Brown have remained mum on whether or not they’ll confirm the eminently qualified nominee, who would be the first female head of the CIA.

The veteran CIA agent has even received widespread praise:

  •  Jeremy Bash, former Democratic chief counsel to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said, “Confirming Gina Haspel would send exactly the right signal to the intelligence community and the rest of the country…”
  • Marc A. Thiessen, American Enterprise Institute Fellow called her, “quite possibly the most qualified person ever nominated to lead the CIA.”
  • And 72 former CIA officers have endorsed her.

So why is Sherrod Brown refusing to rise above partisan banter to let Ohioans know where he stands on Haspel’s nomination?

With national security at stake, Ohioans deserve to know if Brown will bow to his party bosses or confirm a widely respected and highly qualified nominee for CIA Director.
