It’s full speed ahead on Bob Menendez’s corruption trial after the Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal!
Menendez was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2015 on charges of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes to act on behalf of a wealthy benefactor. The (allegedly) corrupt Senator from New Jersey sought to have the charges dismissed, but his appeal was rejected by the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals and now the Supreme Court.
“Bob Menendez is out of legal options and must now answer for these incredibly serious allegations of corruption,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If Bob Menendez refuses to step aside, he will have to explain to New Jersey voters why he continues to embarrass them by defiantly remaining in office as he awaits trial for accepting bribes.”
