Washington, D.C – In his first speech on the Senate floor, D.C. Darling Mark Kelly shared how he intends to turn his back on hardworking Arizonans. Instead of being a Senator for Arizonans, he will be a Senator for Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and the D.C. special interest groups that fund his campaign.

One look at Mark Kelly’s voting record proves that he is not the independent-minded Senator he claims to be. Since arriving in the Senate, Mark Kelly has voted with Chuck Schumer’s radical Left agenda 98% of the time, including Democrats’ efforts to fuel the current border crisis by jamming through an amnesty and open borders agenda.

Even with the spotlight on him today, Mark Kelly chose to hide behind fellow Arizonan Kyrsten Sinema on the issues that matter most. Heagain refused to tell Arizonans whether or not he supports the Democrats’ reckless tax and spending spree as well as Schumer and Bernie Sanders’ plan to sneak amnesty and open borders into the reckless spending spree.

Whether it is hiding behind Kyrsten Sinema or being a rubber stamp for Chuck Schumer’s radical agenda, Mark Kelly has proven time and again that he is far from the independent-minded Senator for Arizona he pretends to be.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Mark Kelly’s first Senate speech should have been an apology to Arizonans because his short Senate career is a master class in failure. Arizona’s Southern Border is in crisis, and Mark Kelly consistently votes against legislation to secure the border. Arizona families are seeing rising costs everywhere they look, and Mark Kelly advocates for reckless tax hikes and trillions in new spending. All we heard today from Mark Kelly is how he will be the best possible Senator for D.C. special interest groups looking to pass their far-Left agenda.”
