Washington, D.C. – Today, House Democrats moved forward with their “new,” but still corrupt, federal takeover of elections. And who was there, following liberal Washington Democrat leadership, to vote for this reckless new law? Florida’s very own Val Demings.
It’s no secret Demings has been the number one supporter of the Democrats’ federal takeover of elections. Unfortunately, she still hasn’t taken the hint that it is unpopular, and despite Democrats’ attempts to fool voters, the bill makes our election system less secure.
Here are some of the top line provisions:
- Guts voter ID laws.
- Uses taxpayer dollars to fund political campaigns.
- Tramples on the rights of states to control their own elections.
These bills gut common-sense election security measures that are supported by a vast majority of voters. So why is Demings so in favor of attacking our democracy? Because she is willing to follow Nancy and Chuck wherever they lead.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Priscilla Ivasco: “Val Demings continues her longstanding streak of party line votes. We are not surprised she would be willing to compromise our election security if it keeps her in the good graces of Washington Democrat leadership. Demings has turned her back on Florida’s voters and on November 8 she will pay the price.”
