Washington, D.C. – The overwhelming majority of Americans cite inflation as their chief economic concern, according to Gallup.  It makes sense too because last week the Consumer Price Index (CPI) hit a 40-year high!

Anyone looking to serve the American people in Congress in 2022 ought to spend the majority of their time talking about how to bring inflation down.  Unfortunately, it appears that only Republicans are spending time worrying about bringing down prices.

Republicans know that the government must stop spending money ASAP to prevent more fuel from being dumped on the fire.  Meanwhile, Democrats seem to be oblivious to these concerns.  In fact, the White House and Chuck Schumer are working on plans to resurrect the disastrous “Build Back Broke” tax-and-spend plan.

Spending more has broad support in the party too.  Today, Elizabeth Warren wrote an op-ed in the liberal New York Times stating that the only way Democrats can win is by pushing more of their socialist agenda.

This begs the question: Are Democrats not listening or do they not understand the problem?  Also, will vulnerable Senators like Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, Raphael Warnock, and Michael Bennet oppose new spending or continue their election-year posturing?

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “’If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,’ is usually a good strategy.  But, when the President’s approval rating is in the 30s and nearly 70 percent of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, it’s pretty clear that everything about the Democrats’ agenda is broken.  Yet, the concerns of Americans are falling on deaf ears in Washington’s ruling party.”
