Washington, D.C. – The Democrat-on-Democrat attacks have begun in North Carolina.
Things started off with a whimper as State Senator Jeff Jackson called out Cheri Beasley and Erica Smith for not holding public events. Erica Smith responded tenfold, attacking Jackson – aka Cal Jr. – for….well, being a clone of past North Carolina Democrat U.S. Senate losers.
Jeff Jackson is hoping the noise that Smith is generating among the base of his party is short-lived, but Democrats endorsing his “Cal Jr.” moniker ensures it will last the entirety of his race.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Jeff Jackson has poked the progressive base, and they are punching back with force. North Carolina Democrats are craving a candidate who is more like AOC and less like Cal Cunningham, and he knows it. As the Democrat-on-Democrat attacks begin to intensify, one thing is for certain: Whomever the nominee is will be more liberal, and more out-of-touch with North Carolinians than anyone could have ever imagined.”
