You might have noticed the new series, Everything Sucks, streaming on Netflix this weekend and thought that Joe Manchin had expanded his grift from tax-evading hotels to the entertainment industry. But despite the show’s title and the fact that it is set in 1996, the year of Manchin’s unsuccessful first statewide campaign, it is not about the glum West Virginia Senator and his struggles.

But everything has really sucked for Joe Manchin lately. The middle-class tax cut that Manchin voted against is soaring in popularity, with a majority now approving of the law. And Manchin’s vote has led to the Trump administration calling him out for being a phony moderate, with Vice President Pence reminding West Virginians that #JoeVotedNo on everything from tax cuts to defunding Planned Parenthood. To top things off, Manchin continues to be hounded by his shady hotel dealings, with an ethics complaint filed against him for failing to disclose his investment.

“Joe Manchin isn’t kidding when he complains that his life in Washington sucks,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “But Manchin should take solace in the fact that his consistent votes against President Trump’s agenda and his shady business dealings will ensure that he can hop on his yacht and leave Washington for good after November’s election.”
