Washington, D.C.  — We’ve told you for months the Colorado Senate race is close, and Michael Bennet is running scared. You didn’t believe us. Then, the Democrats spent $10 million to defeat Joe O’Dea in a Republican primary and lost. You still didn’t believe us.  Now, yet another poll is out showing this race not only close, but within one point!  Are you believers now? Joe O’Dea is a stock on the rise

From the Washington Examiner

“The survey, conducted for the Republican Attorney General’s Association, showed Bennet up over O’Dea 48% to 47%, with 5% undecided. O’Dea, the wealthy owner of a construction company, is a prized Republican candidate who has positioned himself as a centrist in a bid to oust Bennet, 57, in Colorado, a blue state President Joe Biden won by double digits nearly two years ago.

Boosting O’Dea, 60, was his strength with independent voters. He trailed Bennet by only 4 points, 49% to 44%, with this crucial voting bloc. Veteran Republican strategist Dave Sackett, of the Tarrance Group, is the pollster; he surveyed 600 likely registered voters Aug. 22-25. The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 4.1 points.”

Failed presidential candidate and current backbench U.S. Senator Michael Bennet has little to run on.  Thus far, his general election campaign messaging has been poor: He’s lied about corporate PAC money, implied he makes personal stock trades based on Senate action, made a blatantly hollow attempt to pretend he’s a fly fisherman, lied about Joe O’Dea’s position on abortion in his latest ad, and was recently forced to accept that fact that Joe O’Dea is a doer and he is not.

We’re sure that list will grow, and Joe O’Dea will be sworn into the U.S. Senate in January.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “New polling in Colorado demonstrates that not only is Michael Bennet incredibly weak, but that Joe O’Dea is a great candidate who meets the moment.  Relying on lies and falsehoods instead of a track record of successes will eventually backfire on a candidate, and Michael Bennet is a living case study of that. ”
