If anyone had any questions about what a tough spot Heidi Heitkamp is in regarding President Trump’s eminently qualified Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, look no further than her antics reported last night in The Hill.

According to the story, as reporters attempted to discuss Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with North Dakota’s junior Senator, Heitkamp “bolted from the Capitol out of the first floor exit instead of taking the Senate subway, where most reporters camp out.”

So much for accountability and accessibility, right?!

“Heidi Heitkamp can run and hide, but at the end of the day she is either going to have to vote to support Judge Kavanaugh and infuriate the Democrat voters she needs, or oppose his nomination and kiss her Senate seat good-bye,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Heitkamp’s attempts to skirt the issue are a good reminder that when it comes to the crucial topics North Dakotans care about, she’d prefer to say nothing.”
