Devoid of a leader and heading into the 2018 midterm elections without a message, red state Senate Democrats are looking to former President Barack Obama and his failed policies to aid their flailing campaigns.
Politico reported that Obama is set to headline a Hollywood fundraiser for vulnerable Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, which is an odd choice considering red state voters made it clear they want nothing to do with the disastrous policies of the Obama administration. After already voting against the wildly successful Republican tax cuts, Mexico Joe Donnelly is doing everything he can to prove to Indiana voters that he doesn’t deserve another term.
The major question for Mexico Joe today is will he welcome Barack Obama to Indiana?
“With Barack Obama hitting the campaign trail for red state Dems, Mexico Joe Donnelly will have to decide whether to bring the unpopular former President to Indiana,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Obama’s campaign stops will only remind Hoosiers that Mexico Joe supported his failed policies, and that while he votes against President Trump’s agenda, he stood with the former President even as his constituents overwhelmingly rejected him.”
