Washington, D.C. – According to a new New Hampshire Journal poll, 63% of New Hampshire’s registered voters disagree with raising the cap on State and Local Tax (SALT) deductions, a move that disproportionately helps millionaires and billionaires in high-tax states like Massachusetts, New York, and California. This poll was full of other bad news for Democrats, especially Maggie Hassan.

Hassan has not only supported raising the SALT cap, but she voted against a resolution that would reduce the SALT deduction to benefit middle-class workers. To justify her actions, she falsely claims that SALT deductions help Granite Staters making under $200,000.

In order to save the “Build Back Broke” liberal wish list this Christmas season, Maggie Hassan is also fighting to save the biggest gift of all for the millionaires and billionaires in New England: once again increasing the SALT cap.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Maggie Hassan’s support for raising the cap on SALT deductions is indefensible.  It is a tax break for Chuck Schumer’s constituents and her donors in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.  Instead of helping Granite Staters struggling from rising costs this Christmas, Maggie Hassan is plotting to make inflation worse and give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.”
