Washington, D.C. – Is Abby Finkenauer preparing to ditch Joe Biden on the campaign trail? The two have a long history: Finkenauer is a former Biden staffer, was one of his earliest Iowa supporters, and even endorsed his “Build Back Broke” agenda way back in 2020.
Fast forward to 2022. Finkenauer is now a failed, one-term, former congresswoman mounting a long-shot campaign against Senator Chuck Grassley. Joe Biden is underwater in Iowa, with only 31% of Iowans approving of him as president.
Now, Abby Finkenauer is trying to distance herself from Biden’s “Build Back Broke” plan. The Daily Beast recently reported Finkenauer has never mentioned Biden’s radical agenda on her social media. In an interview last weekend, Finkenauer went so far as to pretend she didn’t even know what was in “Build Back Broke”!
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Abby Finkenauer can pretend all she wants not to support Joe Biden’s radical agenda, but she can’t hide from her long history of support for him. Finkenauer is a proud supporter of Joe Biden and his efforts to raise taxes and destroy jobs in Iowa.”
