In Race to the Left, Team Fetterman Calls Lamb “Desperate,” Team Lamb Calls Fetterman a Loser

Washington, D.C. – Pennsylvania’s Democrat Senate primary is a race to the Left and the top two candidates – Conor Lamb and John Fetterman – aren’t holding back. Some say it is an “existential” fight for Democrats in PA. Others call it, “Pennsylvania-sized version of Joe Biden vs. Bernie Sanders” (reminder: both are very unpopular in PA).

Now, the gloves are off, and Fetterman and Lamb are publicly taking swings at each other’s campaigns.

The Philadelphia Inquirer: Lamb’s team [says] he’s just “working harder than the other candidates” and that Fetterman “doesn’t do the real work that wins elections.” That prompted a biting rejoinder from Fetterman’s campaign, which said his army of small-dollar donors shows he’s the candidate with “widespread and enthusiastic grassroots support … something that even $8 million of dark money can’t buy [referring to Lamb’s campaign].”

“John Fetterman is refusing to show up and take questions on issues that he doesn’t want to talk about,” Nassif-Murphy [Lamb’s campaign manager] added. “… it’s another reminder that he’s never been in a tough race and doesn’t do the real work that wins elections.”

Rebecca Katz, a Fetterman campaign consultant, called those “desperate attacks.”

This infighting will only intensify as we get closer to the primary, and we look forward to watching.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Conor Lamb and John Fetterman are getting chippy with each other, and it will only get nastier. As Lamb’s identity crisis continues to grow more confusing for everyone, Fetterman’s radical positions only shift further to the Left.  If they both remain on this path, Republicans will be very happy come November.”
