Washington, D.C. – Inflation is rising at levels not seen in several decades, causing pain at the pump and the checkout counter for working Americans. Instead of addressing the core causes of inflation, Senate Democrats are preparing to support a $3.5 TRILLION (actually $5 trillion) spending package written by socialist Bernie Sanders. The wasteful spending will undoubtedly make inflation much worse, pumping more unpaid-for money into the overheated economy.

In New Hampshire, a recent poll by St. Anslem College found that voters were most concerned about inflation and the national debt, replacing COVID as a top concern. In fact, 83% of respondents said that they were concerned about inflation.  But Maggie Hassan, who loves to call herself a “moderate” even though she votes with Bernie Sanders 96% of the time, seems to be unaware of that fact or is blatantly ignoring the concerns of her constituents.

Hassan has refused to say whether she supports or opposes the $3.5 trillion (actually $5 trillion) monstrosity. On Sunday, Hassan spent a TV appearance ducking the question of how she would vote. Yesterday, during a radio appearance, the host took a more direct approach, asking the junior Senator about the inflation that all this spending was causing. Her answer did not inspire confidence, stating simply that she was “watching the inflation issue.”

What she is watching is inflation skyrocketing, hurting hardworking Granite Staters. Soon she’ll watch her disastrous spending bills make it even worse.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Senate Democrats like Maggie Hassan are wildly out of touch.  Inflation is the top concern of New Hampshire families. Instead of getting serious about fixing it, Hassan wants to make it worse.  While she may be content with sitting back and watching the inflation numbers rise, most Granite Staters don’t have such a luxury of indifference.”
