A new profile from Politico details just how gutlessly calculating a politician Joe Manchin has become.
Even as Manchin signals he may, in the end, vote yes on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination, he continues to play along with his Democratic colleagues’ shameful charade. And Politico reports that the reason Manchin continues to straddle the fence is that he wants to vote with the majority…what ever that majority may be – “It’s clear Manchin doesn’t want to be the 50th vote for Kavanaugh, but it seems like he’d be OK with being the 51st or 52nd, barring any new developments.”
“West Virginians want a Senator who will stand up for their values, not a spineless politician like Joe Manchin,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If Manchin can’t be counted on to stand with President Trump on something as important as a Supreme Court seat without checking which way the wind is blowing, he is unfit for office.”
