After failing to connect with working-class voters during her disastrous 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton showed that she hasn’t learned a thing about why she lost.
In recent remarks, Clinton bragged about winning the support of coastal elites, while bashing voters living in America’s heartland by calling them “backwards.” Her tasteless comments are certain to be a problem for the 10 Democrat Senators running for reelection in states President Trump won, especially given all of them publicly supported Clinton’s candidacy.
“Hillary Clinton’s vile comments highlight the Democratic Party’s elitist values and inability to connect with millions of hardworking Americans,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “You can bet that red state Dems are going to have to answer for their support of Clinton and let voters know if they agree with her despicable attacks.”
