Washington, D.C. – The public is learning more about Democrats’ $1.9 trillion so-called “COVID relief” bill – and there doesn’t seem to be much COVID relief spending (not surprised). A new report says $15 million of Democrats’ massive spending bill went to “anti-racism” and “social activism” programs for children.

And this isn’t the first report outlining how Democrats are spending Americans’ tax dollars. Senate Republicans pushed for targeted COVID relief like Senator Marco Rubio’s Paycheck Protection Program that helped keep workers employed during the height of the pandemic.

Instead, Senate Democrats rammed through a $1.9 trillion liberal wish list that has nothing to do with COVID relief. They even opposed Senator Ron Johnson’s motion to have the bill read aloud on the Senate floor. Now we know why.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “The more we learn about Senate Democrats’ wasteful spending disguised as COVID relief, the more it makes sense why they threw a temper tantrum when Republicans demanded the bill be read aloud to the public. They didn’t want Americans to know that their tax dollars would be spent on radical social justice programs instead of relief for working families. Senate Democrats couldn’t care less about families struggling because of the pandemic. They’re only focused on jamming through their radical agenda. Even if that means they have to lie about what they are spending Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars on.”
